Christmas Card

Here is our Christmas card that we sent out this year for those of you who did receive one, sorry but here it is:

Newsletter Christmas 2009

Dear Family and Friends,

This year for the Humble's it has been a year of miracles! The greatest miracle is a new addition to our family, Megan! She has brought so much joy to our family. Just when we though we were enjoying the life of not having kids, "bam" this happens and we are so happy. We remember walking by the playground on Friday nights and going out and having a good time and going to the movies without a crying baby. For a moment we were getting used to that life. We thought it would just be us two, like in the movie “Up”.

As most of you know we are signed up with LDS Family Services, looking to adopt. Then on September 8, 2009 we received an email asking us if we were willing to adopt a 2 year old with legal risk. Of course, we got nervous and excited at the same time. We went to visit her and loved this cute little red hair from the first day. Then on September 11, 2009, Megan came to live with us forever. She is so fun and has brought so much joy to our family. Some of the funny things that she does is, when she walks around the Christmas tree she is very careful not to bump it, like she is the guy on Ocean's Twelve, doing the laser dance (Steph trained her well). Another funny thing she says is “mmmy Megan”, or “mmmy juice”. Another cute thing that she does, is in the morning when she wakes up she yells through the bottom of the door “Daddy wake up”. So she has brought a lot of changes to our little Humble family.

So with the addition of Megan, Tyler has been the stay-home dad, while Stephanie continues to teach 5th grade. Stephanie has loved this year and her students have been really good. They can do the entire play of Strooge, you should see it. Tyler has enjoyed staying home with Megan and enjoys taking her swimming and to the park. In his free time he loves to watch his fantasy teams win (Steph loves fantasy sports so much).

Back in October we went to Phoenix with Megan. We were worried how she would do on the trip, but it turned out amazing. We told her we were going on an adventure and she would yell out “adventure”. It was so cute. Then driving home, we were talking about life and was wondering what was going to happy in the future. So we were feeling blessed to have Megan in our lives. When we got home our case worker called and informed us that a girl was looking to adopt her baby and loved our profile. So we went and meet her and her mom. She is so cute and has such a fun personality. We have gone and visited her several time and each time, just loved our new friends. She is due with a baby girl on March 25th. Us and Megan are so excited to have a baby “sissy”. They are going to be as good as friends as Snef and Amos (Stephanie and Amy).

We are so excited for the Christmas season and to spend it with Megan. What a difference a year makes. We are so excited for the future and can't wait to see what happens. We love Megan! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Love,

Tyler, Stephanie and Megan

3rd Anniversay

Last week was our 3rd Anniversary! It was one of our best anniversary yet. It seems like we have been married forever and it keeps getting better. For our anniversary, Tyler was in charge of it, we went to SLC and Midway. In SLC we went to the Christmas Concert and was able to get tickets just off the street. The concert was amazing and brought the Christmas spirit to our vacation. Then in Midway we swam in the crater and went for a romantic sleigh ride. Steph loved it! Then when we woke up we got snowed in an had to dig our car out. It was a great vacation.

For those that are asking where was Megan. She enjoyed playing with her cousins and Amy.

Mr. Bugols was kind enough to let us stay at his house in Phoenix. Megan loved playing at the pool and jumping in. She is fearless. Overall the trip was a big success and so much fun!

First Day of Preschool

Last week was my first full week with Megan. On Tuesday she had her first day of preschool. Check out how excited she is (don't look to close at the hair, dad did it). She is loving playing outside on the playground with all her neighbor friends.

Doctor's Office

This week we took Megan to the Doctors to have her checked out. That was quite the experience. She was stubborn and wouldn't let the doctor look into her ears and was wrestling with the nurse just on being measured and weighted. Then the doctor told us she needs a flu shot. So me and Steph were worried she that she would flip out. So the nurse had Steph straddle her and hold her down. We prepared for the worse. Then the nurse poked her in the leg and Megan didn't even scream, which I thought she would for sure. She just got a frowning face and cried for one second. It was amazing. I was laughing my head off in that little room, at how incredible that was.

New Addition: Megan

Welcome Home Megan!

Where to begin. Well for those that didn't know we were trying to adopt. We have been on LDS Family Services for several months. Then radomly on Tuesday September 8, I received a email from an amazing foster family that has a 2 year old, that said "would you be willing to adopt a 2 year old with legal risk". So of course we were excited. We drove up that night and saw her. She was half asleep but still cute. Then the next day we drove up there and took Megan out to McDonald's and the park. Then the plan was to ease her in and have her for a couple of days, but we would have a hard time leaving her. So on Friday September 11, the foster parents came and dropped her off and she felt like at home. She has been amazing. From the first day she has been calling us Mommy and Daddy.

This week we has been fun. We have had a couple of toddler showers, and amazing gifts and love from friends and family. Thanks for all those that have shown love and support to us and Megan.

Summer of hikes

This summer we are trying to save some money, so for fun activities we have gone on hikes. Last week we hike the "Y". It took it to me (T, I need to get in shape). This week we hiked to Battlecreek Falls and Stewart Falls. Any recommendations for a good hike?

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Yeah! This is me, Stephanie, finally writing a post, for once. My T, is so much better at this. He is actually the one that suggested I work on this.
Horray for the summer! I love it so so much! This Memorial Day we went to a concert at the Scera Shell. I love that place. A tribute group for the Bee Gees were performing and my sister Karyn and I were dancing like crazy! One of my students saw me and I asked her if my husband was dancing crazy too and she said, "Not so much."
He is a great guy though. I am so excited for the summer. I am working at a wedding shop called Wedding Dreamer. Hopefully I can have time to relax a lot too. Yesterday Tyler and I bought a screen door for our balcony and a sweet man took it in his truck for us because there is no way we could have fit it in our Camry! I love this time of year!

California Vacation

Last weekend we went to California, our home away from home, for Tyler's birthday. We went with Linzo and Jerry. First we stopped at St. George and saw Brian Regan.

"Honey, I think I am going to get a Boeing!" "I wonder what those balloons are tied to" "But lime is my second favorite"

Friday we went to Disneyland and Sneffers took it to us again. We couldn't keep up.

Saturday we went to beautiful Huntington Beach and eat at Dukes. It was awesome!
