Newsletter Christmas 2009
Dear Family and Friends,
This year for the Humble's it has been a year of miracles! The greatest miracle is a new addition to our family, Megan! She has brought so much joy to our family. Just when we though we were enjoying the life of not having kids, "bam" this happens and we are so happy. We remember walking by the playground on Friday nights and going out and having a good time and going to the movies without a crying baby. For a moment we were getting used to that life. We thought it would just be us two, like in the movie “Up”.
As most of you know we are signed up with LDS Family Services, looking to adopt. Then on September 8, 2009 we received an email asking us if we were willing to adopt a 2 year old with legal risk. Of course, we got nervous and excited at the same time. We went to visit her and loved this cute little red hair from the first day. Then on September 11, 2009, Megan came to live with us forever. She is so fun and has brought so much joy to our family. Some of the funny things that she does is, when she walks around the Christmas tree she is very careful not to bump it, like she is the guy on Ocean's Twelve, doing the laser dance (Steph trained her well). Another funny thing she says is “mmmy Megan”, or “mmmy juice”. Another cute thing that she does, is in the morning when she wakes up she yells through the bottom of the door “Daddy wake up”. So she has brought a lot of changes to our little Humble family.
So with the addition of Megan, Tyler has been the stay-home dad, while Stephanie continues to teach 5th grade. Stephanie has loved this year and her students have been really good. They can do the entire play of Strooge, you should see it. Tyler has enjoyed staying home with Megan and enjoys taking her swimming and to the park. In his free time he loves to watch his fantasy teams win (Steph loves fantasy sports so much).
Back in October we went to Phoenix with Megan. We were worried how she would do on the trip, but it turned out amazing. We told her we were going on an adventure and she would yell out “adventure”. It was so cute. Then driving home, we were talking about life and was wondering what was going to happy in the future. So we were feeling blessed to have Megan in our lives. When we got home our case worker called and informed us that a girl was looking to adopt her baby and loved our profile. So we went and meet her and her mom. She is so cute and has such a fun personality. We have gone and visited her several time and each time, just loved our new friends. She is due with a baby girl on March 25th. Us and Megan are so excited to have a baby “sissy”. They are going to be as good as friends as Snef and Amos (Stephanie and Amy).
We are so excited for the Christmas season and to spend it with Megan. What a difference a year makes. We are so excited for the future and can't wait to see what happens. We love Megan! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love,
Tyler, Stephanie and Megan
